Coffee

We believe that drinking great coffee and caring for the planet shouldn't be a compromise.

Our Story

As a grad student at Georgetown, our co-founder Emily loved starting her day with an iced mocha. She explored Washington D.C. through coffee, trying over 30 different mochas around the District. During her Master’s program, she studied sustainability in the coffee supply chain and interviewed a handful of small cafés in Georgetown with her classmates. In January 2024, Emily teamed up with her peer from undergrad, Cameron Marcus, to build “The True Price of a Mocha,” a website to connect people with environmental sustainability information about their coffee. Awarded the Green Commons Award in April 2024, this project is continuously developed to help community members align their coffee purchases with their social values.
